The Girl Behind the Cookies

Hi! I'm Dashnielle, but most people know me as Nini—the founder, baker, and recipe creator behind Nini Cookie Company.

One of the questions I get asked most is, "If your name is Dashnielle, why is your business called Nini Cookie Company?"

The answer is simple—it's part of my story.

I'm a 22-year-old creative with a passion for baking, cooking, and bringing people together through food. Some of my favorite memories have been made in the kitchen, and those moments inspired me to turn something I love into something I could share with others.

But before there was Nini Cookie Company, there was a little girl trying to figure out who she was.

I'm an identical twin, and growing up, my sister and I were often seen as one person. Our names are very similar, and people constantly mixed us up, compared us, or referred to us as "the twins." Being a twin is one of the greatest blessings in my life, and I wouldn't trade that bond for anything. But like many twins, there were moments when it felt like my individuality was overshadowed. People saw us as two versions of the same person, when in reality we're two completely different individuals with our own personalities, dreams, and passions.

That's where Nini came from.

I created the name by taking the "N" from Dashnielle and turning it into something that belonged to me. What started as a nickname became my own identity.

When it came time to start my business, there was never a question about what it would be called. Nini Cookie Company represents more than cookies. It represents finding myself, embracing my individuality, and creating something that reflects who I am.

As a proud first-generation Haitian American, I was raised in a family where food meant so much more than a meal. It meant love, celebration, comfort, and bringing people together. Those values continue to inspire everything I bake today.

Every recipe you see here has been created by me from the ground up. Every cookie is handcrafted from scratch using rich browned butter, premium ingredients, and lots of love. I spend countless hours testing recipes because I believe every bite should feel homemade, comforting, and unforgettable.
